Contrary to what you may be thinking, there is a lot more to being an Animal Control Officer than what you have seen in cartoons.

ACOs are an integral part of our community and deserve our respect and appreciation. These incredible heroes assist in keeping our communities safe by capturing and removing animals from our streets considered to be dangerous.

They also assist in patrolling our neighborhoods and rescue trapped animals while looking out for those that may be in distress or have become fallen victims of cruelty.

Their legal powers allow them to enforce local laws and regulations that protect animal rights and assist in animal cruelty investigations to punish those citizens that have complete disregard for an animal's well-being.

One of their most crucial roles is in preventing cruelty from even happening by educating citizens on the proper care of animals and their safety.

So, next time you meet an Animal Control Officer let them know how much you appreciate their help in keeping all of us safe!
