Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) related to our operations during COVID-19 Emergency

We want all of our amazing parents to know exactly what we have been doing to keep them and their furry friends safe during this special time.

See below answers to the questions we have been receiving the most and check out our COVID-19 Active Response Plan for more details on our enhanced cleaning protocols and new hours of operation.

When will you allow walk-in visits without prior appointment?

We continue to monitor guidance by local authorities and we evaluate our procedures against Metro Nashville’s Safer-at-Home Order. We will keep updating our procedures based on the best safety protocols to follow to protect the health of our beloved patrons and their pets as well as our staff.

I see you are following the mask mandate by the city of Nashville but I cannot wear one due to a medical condition. What should I do?

At this time we would urge you to consider letting us do the work for you by choosing any of our Full-Serve packages. All visitors inside our salon must wear a mask in accordance with Public Health Order 8 by Metro Public Health Department.

Is a visit to the groomer or self-serve stations considered essential?

Yes! At WashPaw we provide much-needed care for your pet’s skin and coat thru the use of our grooming services or self-serve stations as well as treatments for some of our furry guests. The activity of visiting a pet grooming salon to complete a full or self service has been considered essential by the current guidelines provided by Metro Nashville under Order 3. Plus, we have followed CDC guidelines and implemented strong social distancing measures to ensure the safety not only of our customers and their pets but also of our valued staff. This includes curbside drop-off and pickup as well as private self-serve washing appointments where only 1 adult with 1 pet is allowed inside our facility at any one time.

Are your Self-Serve Washing stations open?

Yes! However, to keep our staff and all of our visitors safe, we are currently following these precautions until further notice:

  • Stations are available Thursday thru Sunday from 10am to 5pm by appointment (see below).

  • Station use is limited to a specific time based on appointment selected.

  • To maintain proper social distancing inside our facility, all appointments are private (no other stations in use during the same time as your appointment).

  • Appointment must be prepaid online when booked for contact-less compliance (no cash accepted onsite).

  • Only certain treatments and add-ons are available that do not require close contact. Nail trims and nail grinds (buffering) are currently being offered too! However, we do require you wait outside while our staff works on your pet’s nails.

Why are your self-serve stations available by appointment only now? Will you be going back to walk-in as before?

To follow current CDC guidelines and reduce the quantity of people inside our store we are only accepting one adult per pet during a specific amount of time. This allows our staff to properly sanitize not only the station as we have always done, but also the full front area of our salon. This keeps our staff and our next guests on appointment book safe.

We understand this can be an inconvenience for some pet parents and we apologize as we do our best to keep everyone safe. We will continue to monitor the information shared by health authorities and we hope we can resume walk-in (no appointment needed) on our self-serve stations soon.

Is your Grooming Salon open for full-serve haircuts and baths?

Yes! Cut & Style and Full-Service Bath & Brush appointments are available Tuesday thru Sunday from 10am to 6pm (Mondays for cats only). Our grooming staff will continue to assist curbside during check-in and pickup after your friend’s SPA session. Please note all appointments must be paid online via credit/debit card once you receive an invoice for services, usually within 1 hour after your pet has been checked-in. At this time we are not able to accept cash payments.

Will I be able to tip my service provider when I pay online?

Yes! Once you receive your invoice for services completed by your assigned service provider you will see the option to add a tip with your payment.

Can I get a nail trim or nail grind for my pet?

Yes! Walk-ins for nail trims or nail grinds (buffering) are available by appointment Tuesday thru Sunday from 10am to 5pm. Please note our staff will pickup your friend curbside while you wait in your vehicle.

My veterinarian is currently closed. Do I still need a vaccination certificate for my appointment?

Yes, since we are required to have a certificate with current vaccinations in accordance with Tennessee law before we serve any pets in our salon. If you do not have a copy, please contact your veterinarian before your appointment to receive a copy. We will be unable to complete a service appointment without valid certification. Tags without proper certification are not accepted.
